This 2-hour class offers a primer of Hanna Somatics, a gentle and profound approach to neuromuscular education that complements and enhances the practice of Yoga and yoga therapy. This introduction will provide an overview and experiential practice of the principles and techniques of Hanna Somatics, focusing on how they can be integrated into therapeutic and movement practices.
Participants will learn how to recognize and address sensory-motor amnesia, a condition where muscles become habitually contracted due to stress, trauma, or repetitive movements. Through a combination of theoretical knowledge and practical application, attendees will gain insights into improving muscle function, reducing chronic pain, and enhancing overall body awareness.

Your Instructor: Suzanne Larsen has earned her original certification in 2002 focused on alignment yoga. Since then Suzanne has completed many trainings and taught thousands of hours of yoga in a variety of styles, and most recently, set to complete a 1000+hour certified yoga therapist training.
MASTERCLASS General Description
Are you seeking a deeper understanding of why Yoga works and how to integrate mind, body and spirit into healthful living? These classes are open to anyone who is curious and likes to learn new things. While the class is geared toward movement and healthcare professionals, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, social workers, mental health professionals, nurses, doctors and more … anyone can come to learn more about how our body, nervous system, mind, movement patterns and daily habits make up our life - and you’ll learn how Yoga can have a big part in sustaining, and even improving, your health and wellbeing.
The 2 hour class will be experiential in nature, but also give you a foundational knowledge on the topic of the month. Typically offered one Friday a month 1-3pm.
