This practice dives deeper into the activating part of our autonomic nervous system (the sympathetic nervous system). We learn about the sympathetic trunk, and how we can use muscles we do have voluntary control over, to release chronic tension from areas that are communication hubs within our nervous systems. Plus, we get some new amazing facts about the benefits of breathing from the diaphragm as well as the specializations within different groups of ribs. Todays practice is done seated in a chair and lying down on the floor, though both portions could be done in either position. Please be kind to yourself.
