Introduction to SomaYoga (6-Class Series)

SomaYoga is a blend of Somatics (neuro-muscular awareness) and Yoga asana (postures). We may explore common standing yoga postures, but not at a depth that adds unnecessary tension to the body. You will get a better sense of your standing and sitting positions, and learn which muscles to relax and engage, during this class series.

Introductory Series Topics Include:

Healthy Core & Pelvic Floor starts May 11th for 6 weeks (hybrid offering, in person classes and live online or recorded classes).

This special series includes 3 in person classes at 4:15pm on Sundays at Main Street Yoga & Wellness Stoughton, and 3 online classes live 8am on Tuesdays.. If you can't attend the online classes, you can watch the recording (access for 3 months).

This class series will focus on developing awareness and voluntary control of your core muscles from respiratory diaphragm to pelvic floor. Somatic movements and yoga postures will be explored. The classes will be a therapeutic exploration of your relationship to your core and pelvic floor muscles.

  • Leave with an improved sense of core and pelvic floor engagement and release

Your Instructor Alison (Ali) Zuba is a Certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT) and Experienced Yoga Teacher (E-RYT). SomaYoga is a unique therapeutic methodology that blends Somatics and Classic Yoga. The therapeutic method helps to address chronic pain and to develop self-regulation techniques. The practices she offers are gentle and accessible for any level of experience. She is passionate about sharing techniques that help you get out of pain and feel more embodied, happy, and healthy!
